*Note that although the presenters are from Iowa DNR, the topics are more general.

Many Iowa facilities are now reporting their greenhouse gas emissions via the EPA Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program.  Some facilities may have been reporting to IDNR for a few years now but recently Iowa has adopted EPA’s reporting requirements.  What is the latest on Greenhouse Gas Reporting?  And after reporting your greenhouse gas emissions do you wonder about methods to reduce them?

Marnie Stein of Iowa DNR’s Air Quality Bureau will present “Updates on the Federal Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program.”  Marnie is the IDNR’s technical lead on greenhouse gas reporting for the state of Iowa and will provide an overview of the EPA reporting rule; news and updates on the EPA reporting process; and feedback, FAQ’s and BP’s based on the 2010 reporting cycle.

Chuck Geguzis of Pollution Prevention Services will present “Opportunities to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions through Pollution Prevention.”  Chuck is the lead engineer with Pollution Prevention Services and will outline successful technical strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in your facility.  He will highlight practical efficiency examples including:

  • Lighting;
  • Boilers;
  • HVAC Systems; and
  • Chiller systems
